God’s Reading Stars foundation, Inc. is a non-profit Christian based
foundation that is strategically designed to encourage young girls to
read, to encourage a healthy life style and also, to believe in their
dreams. Keeping in mind our MOTTO, Reading is Believing, Achieving
and Succeeding.
As a parent, you know that reading is important and you probably feel
frustrated if your child doesn’t like to read. Many forces in children’s lives
pulls them away from reading for example television, video games, and
after school activities, this is why I decided that I should start a book
club. With the help of dedicated parents, we have been a club for over six
years with the original members of Deaira Carrington, and Breah and
Brandi Frazier. In the past years we have been blessed with many new
members.
The girls are separated into age groups 5-7 these groups of girls are
called God’s Reading Pearls, ages 8-10 these groups of girls are called
God’s Reading Rubies, ages 11-13 these group of girls are called God's
Reading Diamonds and ages 14-17 are called God's Reading Divas. The
girls read a book a month that is age approved for each group. We meet
and discuss the book, which is an open forum for their personal opinion
of the book.
In addition to reading, God’s Reading Stars Foundation has implemented
two other programs, God’s Healthy Living Programs and God’s Future
Leaders and Entrepreneur program.
